Vacancy: Business Manager

About Us
At OJK Business Management, we do more than accounting. We partner with some of the most exciting names across music, sport, media, and entertainment to help them navigate complex financial landscapes with confidence.

With 40 years of specialist experience, we combine technical expertise with a deep understanding of our clients’ worlds. That means going beyond the numbers to deliver advice that is practical, commercial, and tailored to what really matters.

Our culture is built on four core values: being supportive, inclusive, client-focused, and taking ownership. These aren’t just principles, they shape how we work every day. We support one another, create an environment where everyone feels valued, take responsibility for delivering high quality work, and focus on what truly matters to our clients.

Following our return to independent ownership, we’re building a modern business management firm, one that invests in its people, evolves with its clients, and delivers consistently high standards without losing the human side of what we do.

The Role
You will lead a portfolio of clients while managing a team, ensuring high quality delivery, strong client relationships, and effective team performance.

You’ll balance client service, team leadership, and operational delivery by taking ownership of workflow, deadlines, and team output while supporting the development of your people.

This is a leadership role focused on delivering results through others.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as the primary relationship lead
  • Oversee accounts preparation, tax compliance, and financial reporting across the team
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members, providing regular feedback and support
  • Allocate work effectively, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met
  • Review and sign off work, ensuring compliance with technical and internal standards
  • Manage billing, WIP, and resource allocation to support profitable delivery
  • Handle complex client queries and provide clear, commercially sound advice
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Tax, Royalties) to deliver a joined-up service
  • Monitor team performance, identifying risks, capacity challenges, or development needs
  • Contribute to improving team processes, efficiency, and overall service delivery

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Fully qualified (or equivalent experience) with strong technical knowledge
  • Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality service
  • Experience leading or mentoring others, with a focus on development and performance
  • Strong organisational and delegation skills, able to manage competing priorities
  • Commercial awareness, including understanding of billing and profitability
  • Confident handling complex or sensitive client matters
  • Clear and professional communicator, both internally and externally
  • A proactive and accountable leader who drives standards and supports team success

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not available for this role.
